Monarch Post Office

Mail is sorted and available for pick-up by 11:30 a.m. at the Monarch Post Office on weekdays and by 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays.  Outgoing mail leaves the P.O. at 12:45 p.m. on weekdays and at 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays.

Monarch Volunteer Fire Department

Monarch Volunteer Fire Department

The tax-supported Monarch Volunteer Fire Department has 1 pumper, 1 tanker, and 3 "brush fire" trucks.  The Fire Department responds to calls to 911 for incidents in the Monarch Area.

Cascade Country Road Department

Cascade County Road Department

The County Road Department plows and maintains country roads in the area.  These include the Dry Fork Road, the Belt Park Road, and the road to Logging Creek on Riceville Hill, and the Brigham Coulee Road.  By prior agreement they also maintain Sun Mountain Drive.

Montana Department of Transportation

The State Highway Department plows and maintains U.S. Highway 89.  The photo shows their garage for maintenance equipment, a snowplow, and the old railroad depot, which is owned by the Highway Department.

U.S. Forest Service

Belt Creek Ranger Station

Monarch is surrounded by the Lewis & Clark National Forest. The Belt Creek Ranger Station is located about 7 miles south of Monarch.

U.S. Air Force

The Air Force maintains facilities in the Monarch area that are part of the missile-defense system for the U.S.
